Slanted Light

What if there are no mistakes?
What if every choice we make, 
          big, little, and in-between
          each one of these scenes
                    has a deeper meaning?

What if each single moment
     connects a chain of events
          set into motion the second of our birth
               meant to start with our arrival on earth
                    slowly revealing our wonderful Worth?

What if hardship, hurt, and rejection
          all were lessons?
What if every unmet desire
          was mere fuel for the fire?
Maybe our purpose is much Higher.

(We see these choices along the way,
          the many paths that we could take,
               but maybe the course was already set.
                    We just don't know it yet.)

What if we stopped trying to control?
What if we gave up that role
          halting hindsight
          the urge to be right
What if we just lived in the Light?

What if it's impossible to get this wrong?
          Would we pause for so long?
          Or could we follow our feelings
          and keep our minds from stealing
                    endless Joy and healing?

What if we never learn
          or can even discern
          our Purpose here?
We are limited by time, age and year
          by what we shouldn't fear.

What if we must blindly trust
our purpose will be revealed to us?
What if we could be, as in youth,
living out our Divine truth?
